You know, things you can't(or almost can't) imagine your deck without.I just recently purchased the entire first cycle and now I'm descending into addiction to Bilbo. Those 2 cards each resource phase are adding just so many value, they certainly worth those 3 threat cost he got over his stats.
And with several fast hitches and burning brand he can be pretty good defender too(drop down billion attack enemies).
My second addicition is Denethor. I hate the random which gimps everything, and ever since the core set scenarios, Denethor was one of my must haves. He stays readied during the quest phase, if some nasty enemy pops up - he is the best hero defender game can offer(or was, before the Beregond arrived) no other hero in the game has 3 points in defense, but if no enemies show/present - he shows me what lies ahead(it's very strong in solo, cause only one card is revealed each quest phase) and if I don't like it - he even lets me to get rid of it for good! I can't express how many times this saved my day. Mr. Riversong and Rumour of the Earth are here aswell - if I brought something to the bottom of the deck with Denethor, I'd probably want to know what waits for me now and be somehow prepared.
Eowyn - dam, dat willpower! I must confess, I almost never built a deck without her. I just can't imagine how would I quest in solo without her.
That's right, my latest decks consist of Bilbo, Denethor and Eowyn.
But for the Scenario of Emyn Muil I was forced to change Denethor for Eleanor, went good though, win on the first try.
To clarify, I am a solo player, mostly. Duo happens rare, and when it does - it'll most probably be some causal Mirkwood run.
So, what are your must haves? Cards you use almost everywhere?
Please, don't tell me it's stargazer'n'miner
