So Son of Arnor works with Goblin Sniper. I'm not certain it would work if you used a card effect to play SoA in the encounter phase but that situation has never come up with me.

I'm also not 100% sure how Son of Arnor vs Warg would play out.

If you play Son of Arnor during the planning phase then then he can bring the Wargs out of the staging area so their threat doesn't count during the quest phase.
