I completely agree with this.
I wanted to like this game, really, I did.
But after I watched the videos from Fantasy Flight explaining the gameplay, it sounded like such a convoluted mess of adding modifiers together that I never gave it a second look. No one in my group would even consider playing a game where every turn all we do is add modifiers and check numbers against other numbers. If we wanted that, we'd go back to work.
