I know that the "official" tournament rules say a constructed deck needs to have a minimum of 50 cards. However, for the purposes of just us playing here at home, do we go ahead and create two 50 card decks? Or do we still keep it at 30 for the way we are playing? Just curious to see what you guys think.

While the decisions are harder, what cards to include, it is certainly a bit easier (and at the same time will give you more insight into building your own decks, because of the aforementioned decisions) to make decent 30 card decks (i.e. about 20 cards from your "major sphere" (2 heroes) and about 10 cards from your "minor sphere" (1 hero); including 2x Gandalf per deck).

Of course, you can also build 50 card decks, but that means using almost all the cards from the Core Set, and there isn't much deckbuilding at all, apart from choosing heroes, and you might end up drawing a bunch of costly cards from your "minor sphere", which won't really help much, since you will only get one resource per round to play these cards (remember, that ALL resource tokens to play a card have to come from matching heroes).

I found that the following hero setup worked quite well:

Spirit/Leadership

Aragorn
Eowyn
Eleanor

Tactics/Lore

Gimli
Legolas
Beravor

P.S. It is generally not a good idea to send ALL heroes questing. You still need some defenders to face the upcoming challenges. :)
