A timing clarification, if you please. Many of the tentacles cards have something like the following on them:
Forced: When Thrashing Tentacle is attacked, discard the top card of the encounter deck. If that card has a shadow effect or is a Tentacle enemy, deal the damage from the attack to 1 character an attacking player controls (ignoring defense).
My timing assumption (or order of business) has been -
Engage with the enemy (usually engages me because their threats are low)
Enemy attacks sequence, including encounter shadow card
Resolve enemy attack
Player now attacks - to me this now triggers the forced affect(s)
Is this correct? I am reading "is attacked" meaning my attack on the tentacle, not the other way around. Or should it be actually read as "is engaged"?
Secondly, in this particular case, I am assuming that the "damage" from my attack, which was originally directed at the tentacle, is instead directed at one of my own characters.
Is this correct?
Thanks in advance for the feedback.
