I think you should check out The One Ring.The mechanics are built solidly around Travel and Combat.
The system is elegant and fun to play.
I have played online and in person and it is the bets RPG for LotR in my humble opinion.
I only have the ocre, but I hope to see more player options for Rangers, and other cultures (Races).
