1) The game is targeted for experts in every way you can imagine.
I agree the game requires a high investment from some players. But (kinda like you do with your kids) I have casual-playing friends over fairly often who have funny picking up a deck and playing.
A) ...I challenge you to let your wife try it ...
This, right here, is some sexist bs.
C) Early campaigns/missions are dreadfully simple as newer more powerful cards come out...
You're somewhat right about this - although several of the early missions (Escape from DG, Return to Mirkwood) still hold up. But I think part of the problem here is inherent to CCGs and LCGs. You can't play magic without staying up to date either. If that's something that's a problem for you, don't play CGs...
D) Epic battles aren't epic.
Yup, this is something the game does not do.
E) Having to customize a deck for each scenario is a chore.
I don't do this.
F) Multiplayer scaling...
Yup, this is also a problem, although they are getting better at it.
G) New expansion packs are doing nothing but scaling the damage done, damage received, or amping things up.
Except for the party splitting mechanic in Foundations and Stone. Or the boss monster of Shadow and Flame. Also, this complaint contradicts your point in E)...
Overall though, I think you are generally correct in that this is a niche game. If you don't like CGs, where deck building and evolution is a fundamental bug/feature of the genre, then this game is going to fall short for you.
